If yes, then you are ready to start applying new electricity saving practices from now.
Our savings experts here at KESCO have made approximate calculations of the cost of electrical equipment, to see which of these devices, most affects the rise of our bills.
Electric heater dominate the list, continuing with the boiler, kitchen appliances for cooking, etc.
If when using electrical appliances, we take into account the advice given by savings experts, the results will be clearly noticed at the end of the month.
Electric central heating
70% of the monthly bill during the winter season goes to heating your home.
To save electricity we must prevent:
• Heating with high and unnecessary temperatures;
• Heating of spaces we don’s often frequent;
• Heating at certain intervals when we do not need it.
* Calculations are made taking into account the average consumption of consumers who use electricity for heating. This cost does not apply to consumers who use alternative heating.
Boiler
44% of your monthly bill goes to boiler water heating all year round, not counting indoor ambient heating.
To save electricity, but also for your pocket, our experts recommend leaving the boiler on overnight, after 22:00 when the tariff is low, and during the day to switch it on only as needed.
Cooking equipment
Electrical appliances we use for baking and cooking in the kitchen, also make up a large percentage of electricity consumption.
If cook food with electrical appliances for about 1 hour and 30 minutes a day, these appliances per month spend about 19% of the total bill.
Note that these calculations are taken taking into account the average consumption of household customers during the year, excluding electric heating, which ranks first in the largest consumption of electricity.
Only after we have identified the electrical appliances that consume mostly we can begin to apply new saving practices!
