The importance of the customer ID number
This article elaborates and informs about the customer code and why we need it to get services at KESCO. The customer code consists of a code with letters and numbers and is located at the top of the electricity bill you receive from KESCO each month.
For example, if your code starts with DGJ, then it means that you are from Gjakova District. There are a total of seven districts in the entire territory of Kosovo, which are presented as follows: DPR - District of Prishtina, DMI - District of Mitrovica, DPE - District of Peja, DPZ - District of Prizren, DFE - District of Ferizaj, DGL - District of Gjilan, DGJ - District of Gjakova.
The first letters indicate the region where the customer comes from, while the next number is a unique identification number for each customer. So to get KESCO services, especially online ones, you need to know your customer code along with other data, depending on the information you are looking for.
• If you contact us at the Call Center it is very important that you have your customer code available, as this will help us identify you as a Kesco customer and get answers to your questions as fast as possible.
So when you call the Call Center, the IVR system or automated voicemail asks you to enter the customer code, in order to identify you as a KESCO customer.
• Also, the registration in the eKesco application is done exactly through the customer code, where you have to identify and enter / write your code in order for your registration to be successful. Through your code as identification number, e-kesco presents a clear overview of electricity consumptions and many other services that you can access online.
• Payments and other online services on the website can also be made by entering / writing the customer code.
Your customer code in the eKesco application is in the "Manage meters" category, exactly in the main window of this app.
In this category, you can add meters as needed and manage them. So under this menu find information about all current meters, including customer code, customer name and surname.
Best of all, the eKesco app allows you to add up to 10 meters, opening only a single account. So 10 metering points of different houses can be managed also outside Kosovo in real time.
Knowing the customer code, you can quickly access services such as:
• Planned works that are taking place in the location from where your measuring point may have been affected,
• Information about the lack of electricity as a result of a breakdown in the electricity network,
• Information about your financial obligation at Kesco, etc.
If this information provided is not sufficient, the customer may choose other types of communication channels to contact us.
