In recent days, an SMS SCAM has been circulating with the following content: “URGENT PAYMENT NOTICE Your electricity payment is LATE! According to Kosovo regulations, if it is not paid within 24 HOURS: • 18% penalty applied • Electricity will be disconnected • Personal reconnection required Pay now: https://lnkd.in/dYtawV4. No registration - just enter your ID and payment details”

KESCO clarifies that it has nothing to do with this and that it has not sent such an SMS, therefore we ask consumers to be extra careful not to fall prey to these scams.

Please verify these fraudulent SMS messages and make all payments through KESCO’s official channels, such as the eKesco application, cash desks in our centers, the eKosova platform, as well as banks and microfinance institutions.

KESCO will take all legal measures regarding this matter. For any further information, please contact our customer service advisors through KESCO’s official channels, and report it to the Kosovo Police.
