KESCO is distributing electricity bills in envelopes to over 700,000 costumers
KESCO is distributing electricity bills to costumers by placing them in envelopes, as required by the latest decision from the Information and Privacy Agency.
This project has been implemented as a pilot since May of this year in several localities. Starting from June 22, the pilot project was expanded to all districts in certain areas, with full implementation for all consumers beginning in August.
This new method of invoice distribution is undoubtedly encountering many challenges. One of the main obstacles is the lack of mailboxes, addresses, and identification numbers for houses or residential buildings, making the process of delivering invoices extremely difficult.
In addition to field challenges, placing all invoices in envelopes is also slowing down the entire process of reading meters and invoicing.
These circumstances highlight the need to consider alternative solutions, where inter-institutional cooperation would be essential to finding the best and most efficient approach, ultimately benefiting the costumers.
KESCO serves over 700,000 customers throughout Kosovo, and operational issues, especially in rural areas, further complicate the implementation of this project. We have also explored postal delivery options, but they are not standardized and do not provide a uniform solution for all end costumers.
KESCO remains committed to providing the highest quality services, building strong partnerships with its customers, and safeguarding their privacy in all forms.
