KESCO: About 5.4 million euros of electricity were imported for 11 days
Only in the first 11 days of April, was imported about 5.4 million euros of electricity. The drop in temperatures and the insufficiency of consumption coverage by local production has influenced the import of electricity in this value.
Within these dates, local production did not cover the entire need for consumption, while the highest peak recorded in this period reached up to 1100 MW/h. Consequently, import has been necessary to cover this gap between consumption and production.
The average daily consumption has reached up to 19,500 MWh, or 810 megawatts per hour, while the price on international exchanges is over 130 euros per megawatt/hour.
In these circumstances what is important for the whole system is to continue saving energy. So, all the shared tips on how to save electricity should be part of our daily life, especially in such periods when the consequences of the global energy crisis have severely affected the entire electrical system.
Regardless of all the obstacles that come our way, we will always do our best to have a stable and consistent supply for our customers.
