Unit B1 dropped out of function, KESCO increases the quantity of import
KESCO was informed by KEK at 13:51 pm that has dropped from the system in unplanned method the unit B1 of power plant Kosova B, who in recent days had already been working at reduced capacity. The dropping out of function of this unit has created immediate shortage of around 200 megawatts / hour of electricity, which makes difficult the electricity supply. KESCO currently under the plan is importing around 200 MW, but this amount is insufficient to cover all the demand, especially now after the fall (trip) of the unit B1.
KESCO started immediately procedures for the additional import to cover the gap created.
As we were informed by KEK, unit B1 is expected to return in the system on Saturday at 00.00.
KESCO thanks customers for understanding and remain committed to doing our best to overcome this situation.
